Difference between dry-type and wet-type feed pellet extruders

Feed pellet extruder, just as its name implies, it is a kind of machine that can be used to make pellets for animals such as fish, cats and dogs. The raw material for the feed pellet making machine could be corn powder, wheat bran, wheat powder and so on. In general, the feed pellet extruders could be divided into two types: the dry-type feed pellet extruders and the wet-type feed pellet extruders. There are some difference between them, and I will introduce them to you in the following.

For the dry-type feed pellet extruder, it can directly use dry powdery material to make feed pellets. And the finished pellets are puffing and cured pellets. In addition, for your information, the structure and the technique of the dry-type feed pellet extruder is quite simple.

As for the other kind of extruder, the wet-type feed pellet extruding machine, it is necessary to equip a set of steam boiler with it. What’s more, you should also put a conditioner which is connected with the steam boiler on the wet-type feed pellet machines. After being crushed by a crusher machine, the raw material will be pre-cooked in the conditioner. Then, the processed material will be conveyed into the wet-type feed pellet extruder. Next, the finished feed pellets will be come out of the extruding machine. 

Comparing the dry-type feed pellet machine with the wet-type feed pellet equipment, they all have advantages. Firstly, the surface of the feed pellets made by wet-type machines is more smooth the it made by dry-type machines. Secondly, the structure of the dry-type machine is simpler than it of the wet-type equipment. Thirdly, generally speaking, the capacity of wet-type feed pellet extruder is larger than the dry-type feed pellet extruder.  

Anyway, currently, dry-type feed pellet equipment is used more than wet-type feed pellet equipment. You can choose the extruder according to actual condition. For your information, dry-typw feed pellet machines are used more by users.
